The annual Calgary Cup was held
on Feb 28 in Calgary, Alberta. I again had a privilege to
participate in this premiere Kyokushin event. The event saw many
exciting fights and the crowd was treated with a well-organized
demonstration. Unfortunately, we could not bring any fighters
from our dojo this year. However, Esther Nathe, entered the
women's division and won the Gold Medal. Esther began Kyokushin
with us and trained in Vancouver for six years. Last year, she
moved to Calgary to enroll in the University of Calgary. She
currently trains at Calgary Dojo led by Sensei Brad Gillespie.
Good job, Esther!
I would like to thank Sensei
Brad and his capable staff team for organizing such a great
event. This year's event had a record number of participants. It
is clear that the tournament is growing each and every year. Osu.
