# | Category | Tie Breaker Rules | Awards |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Children 12 and under | A tie breaker will not be conducted. It means multiple competitors can share the same placement and medals. | Competitors who achieve the highest three scores in each category will be awarded a medal.* |
2 | Teens and Adults 13 and older | An extra performance to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd of each category will be conducted when multiple competitors score the same points within the top three placements. | Top three competitors of each category will received a medal. The first place winner will receive a trophy. |
* By not implementing tie breakers, our goal is to enhance the chances for children to secure a top 3 placement (i.e., it is possible for multiple participants to achieve gold medals within the same category). This approach aims to recognize more children for their efforts. However, one challenge is that organizers cannot predict in advance how many children will receive awards. Ordering a specific number of trophies risks falling short, while ordering too many would strain our budget, potentially necessitating an increase in entry fees. Therefore, we regret that we can only provide medals, not trophies, for the children's divisions. We appreciate your understanding.
