Introduction Vancouver Cup Karate Championships
is an annual event organized by Vancouver Kyokushin Karate. The
event gave itself a very modest start in the year 2000. The constant
success and growth from each year pulled North American fighters
together and provided them with great opportunities to gain
experiences and establish friendships among them.
A numerous number of local competitors used this tournament as a
step ladder to reach up to the international level. The event has
also attracted thousands of Martial Arts fans in the Greater
Vancouver area and contributed to promoting Kyokushin Karate in this
region.
Because the event creates positive and lasting impressions in the
mind of the audience, many local companies participated in the
tournament as corporate sponsors. The tournament heavily takes the
"Media Mix" concept and fully employs printing materials, web sites,
videos and TV coverage to promote Kyokushin Karate and the event
itself. Today, Vancouver Cup Karate Championships has grown to be
one of the most recognized and prestigious karate events in Canada.
