The downtown
kids class happens to have many juniors around seven years
old. They all train really hard and several of them have
already progressed to the yellowKyokushin Karate Kids Part 3 ~ Interview with
belt rank. In this section, We would like to introduce three
yellow belts; John, Matthew and Nicolas, who are full of
energy, and very keen to train hard and compete in
tournaments.
Q1: When and how did you join
the Kyokushin Karate club at first?
John: I joined Kyokushin
Karate when I was five years old in the year of 2002 through
Matthew's parents.
Matthew:
I started when I was four years old, and my mom's friend
told us about the club.
Nicolas: I joined the club
three years ago in July. My parents took me to the dojo and
registered me.
Q2: Why do you
like Kyokushin Karate?
John:
I like Kyokushin karate because you learn self-defense,
toughness, strength, and you get challenge and it's fun.
Matthew:
So I can learn blocks and attacks to defend other people and
myself.
Nicolas:
I like Kyokushin Karate because it is fun and it is a good
sport.
Q3: What is
your favorite technique?
John: My
favorite technique is Jump Spin Kick.
Matthew:
My favorite technique is Shuto Sakotsu Uchi Oroshi.
Nicolas:
I like Punches and Kicks "Mawashi Geri".
Q4: You
competed in the Canadian Championships. How did you enjoy
the event?
John: I enjoyed the
event a lot. It was great!
Matthew:
I like the tournament because it's very very challenging and
it's fun to see your friends compete.
Nicolas:
I loved it. It was a lot of fun. And next year I am going to
try to win a Bronze Medal.
Q5: What is
your goal in Karate?
John:
My goal in
Karate is to become a black belt and master good techniques.
Matthew:
My goal is to become very strong.
Nicolas: Short Term
Goal - Work harder to gain my stripe on my yellow belt and
train extra hard to be a better competitor at the next
competition to win a medal. Long Term Goal - Gain my
brown belt.
Q6: What do
you want to become when you grow up? do you have a dream?
John:
When I grow up
I want to be a doctor, and my dream be a good soccer player.
Matthew:
I want to be a soccer player and become a karate master.
Nicolas:
I want to become a Karate teacher and teach kids how to get
better in Karate. My dream is to be a computer expert.
