"Without
practice there is no proof.
Without proof there is no trust.
Without trust there is no respect."
Sosai Mas Oyama,
Founder of Kyokushin Karate
"Keep your mouth
shut and just train.
If you want to prove anything,
do it on the mat."

Two-time World Champion

While we practice
every elements of Kyokushin Karate at our regular class, Vancouver
Kyokushin Karate especially focuses on fighting training for
tournament competitions. Over the years, our dojo has produced a lot
of capable fighters, and some of them actually climbed up to the
World Class level. Competing in a tournament requires a student an
absolute will power and total dedication to Karate Keiko (practice).
After having toughed out hard training and fighting, a fighter is
bound to learn their true strengths and weaknesses, from which they
will make self-improvement in the future.
Competing in a Kyokushin
tournament is not just about fighting a tough opponent but it's all about
challenging yourself. We would like to introduce several fighters of
our dojo who are very successful at their self-exploration through
Kyokushin fights. These individuals introduced on this page are not
just a "student", They are a "Karate-ka" or "practitioner" who chose
a tough path and decided to devote a considerable part of their life
to Kyokushin Karate. More fighters will be added to this section as
we have many up & coming competitors training at our dojo.

We noticed
that the fighters listed on this page had one thing in common. It is
that they never quit Kyokushin even if they had
to move out of Vancouver. This could mean they all have reached a
point where Kyokushin Karate becomes a way of life to them. The
intense and serious training to fight against tough opponents must
have nurtured their spirit as a karate-ka over a long period of time. We hope more
students will be added here in the future. |
