October 18, at Richmond East
Dojo
Regulars who attend our
traditional fight class were tested their spirit tonight
Thirty two-minute rounds of sparring pushed their limit harder than ever
before.
Amongst the fighters was Haoyin Zheng, the reigning North American
Lightweight Champion.
Haoyin, who moved to Edmonton several months ago, flew to Vancouver
to train with us for five days. His presence pumped extra gas into our
spirit and helped us
follow through the grueling task. With six more weeks left until Vancouver
Cup,
the morale of the team is getting high.

August 18, London, Great Britain
Aidan (right), who used to
train at the downtown dojo in Vancouver,
moved to London in England last year.
He has recently joined a local club and been training very hard.
His current instructor emailed me
the other day with these picture of Aidan participating in their outdoor
class.
Aidan, everyone here is very happy to know that
you train in Kyokushin karate again. A big OSU to you from Vancouver.

August 8 at Killarney Dojo
"Mae Keage" or Front Kick
with a straight leg is one of the most important kicks
in Kyokushin Karate. Delivering this kick twenty times in a row without
losing balance
is one of our requirements at the yellow belt class.

July 31 at Downtown Dojo
Participants of the Monday class survived a severe sparring session
which lasted over 40 minutes. As the room temperature soared
on a hot summer day, students' dogi were soaked with sweat.
