Spring 2007 Belt
Promotion Test was held at Killarney Community Center during the
Victoria Day long weekend. All test applicants came together from
the three VKK clubs to test their skills in order to move up to a
higher belt rank. The day's highlight was the full seventy push-ups,
demonstrated by one of the senior students from the downtown dojo,
Won-Ho. A big applause was sent to him when he finally collapsed
after he squeezed the last strength out of his arms. The way he
performed in the testing displayed the true meaning of this type of
belt examination. The belt grading in Martial Arts is to find out
where you stand, what your limits are, and who you really are. You don't have to prove anything to examiners. You
only prove to yourself. That's what the grading is for. Won-Ho's
hard work set the tone of Kyokushin Way for the rest of the class,
and everyone worked very hard.
The
results of the testing are in
the
member's room.
