The annual IKOK-C
summer camp was once again held at the beautiful Ashton Creek, 10
minutes from Enderby in Okanagan. The camp site has a large green
field, a mid-size gym and Shuswap river running nearby. It is a
great location to sense the power of nature through Kyokushin
Karate. The four-day event offered all participants very unique
opportunities such as Yoga, Cardio Kickboxing, Water Training,
Sayonara BBQ, dance party, and various Kyokushin classes.
The highlight of the
event for VKK was Michi's 10-man kumite for his Shodan. Michi
faced ten fresh opponents in a row to complete the black belt
testing and came out of it very successfully. Daily hard training
the Japanese fighter had gone over did not let his speed and
stamina dwindle at all throughout the challenge. Congratulations
on his milestone achievement: Black Belt of Kyokushin Karate.
Special thanks goes
to Shihan Stuart, Shihan Don, Sensei Larry and the board members
of the IKOK-C for organizing such a great event. We would like to
thank them for letting us be part of it. See you next year. Osu!
