Once again, I had the
privilege to attend Calgary Cup Tournament. This premiere
event has been gaining a lot of popularity from Kyokushin
students and giving them great opportunities to test their
karate skills. The morning portion of the event showcased
junior students in Kumite and Kata. It was amazing to see what
those kids were capable of on the mat. The caliber of our
junior competitors is definitely rising. The afternoon's main
events consisted of Kata Finals, Demonstrations, Board
Breaking, and adults fighting including Men's Open Divisions.
The organizer had prepared the event so flawlessly that those
components moved from one after another very smoothly. I would
like to congratulate Sensei Brad Gillespie and his Calgary
Dojo team on their success of the tournament. Please visit
their web site to view the
results and photos. Osu.
