MICHI NAGASE
Official Instructor
Richmond East Dojo
Black Belt (Shodan)
Commercial Air Pilot

Michi is one of the most active fighters in North America. Working for a commercial airline as a pilot, Michi strives to find time for training to stay competitive in international tournaments. In 2007, the relentless efforts he made at the dojo fulfilled his earnest wish: Competing in the World Tournament. The eye-popping experience he had in Tokyo brought him tremendous confidence and made him train harder so he could evenly match up with those world-class fighters. And the goal became reality when he placed 7th at the All American Open in New York City in 2010. In 2011, Michi represented Canada second time at the 10th World Tournament and fought the last match of his 10-year-long fight career. Today, the spirited Japanese attends the dojo's regular classes as an assistant instructor and runs the VKK fighter class as a main instructor, sharing his knowledge with young fighters.
